I can warmly recommend this 56 Heavy Relic Strat in 2-Tone Sunburst to every player. The ultimate Rock and Blues Strat with a unique pickup combination: "69" at the neck, "Fat 50's" in the middle and a Seymour Duncan "Hot Rail" humbucker at the bridge position, which was added by the previous owner. If you like the bell-like Hendrix sounds on the neck, as well as the classic, pearly intermediate position sounds and really cool Hardrock sounds in the bridge position, you'll be in for a real treat here (the original Texas Special is included). The "Hot Rail", a split humbucker with the dimensions of a singlecoil, is the most powerful passive pickup in the Seymour Duncan range. Fat sound, endless sustain and high output. We were so impressed with this pickup, especially for heavy sounds and leads, that we absolutely wanted to keep it. In addition, the 6105 frets, "60 Style Oval C" neck profile and 9.5" fingerboard radius make it super playable. The neck is slightly thicker (.875-.980'') and feels great in the hand. Very pleasant with the wooden, silky feel on the lacquer-free back. The whole thing is topped by the heavy aged vintage look. The factory aging here is already very convincing across the board with countless hairline cracks, quirks and paint abrasion. As the previous owner really enjoyed playing this guitar for many years it has not only been beautifully swung in, but also has numerous "natural relicing" marks. There's no need to talk about authenticity here, this aging is real! Certainly the frets also show a few signs of wear, but still have a long time of maximum playing enjoyment ahead of them. In addition the previous owner replaced the original "round style" with a triple string tree. All in all, a super maple neck Strat at a great player price!
