Whenever we get our hands on a guitar from masterbuilder Austin MacNutt we are fascinated by his phenomenal aging. The meticulousness and attention to detail with which he relics these instruments is truly incredible. This is also the case with this 1955 Stratocaster. Not only are there countless hairline cracks, larger and smaller blemishes and extensive abrasions on the heavy relic finish in 2-Tone Sunburst, but MacNutt even went so far as to replicate supposedly dirty spots on the white pickguard under the strings. And this love for details and nuances continues: the handselected, graded ash body weighs just 3210 grams, which in combination with the super comfortable Large-C profile, the stripped back of the neck, 9.5'' fingerboard radius and the tried and tested Narrow/Tall frets naturally results in stunning playability. When choosing the pickups the new shooting star among the masterbuilders opted for "Josefina Handwound Fat 50s": earthy, expressive sound, ideal for the perfect Blues sounds. Lots of smack, whereby the typical pearliness of a 50s Strat is never lost. Bell tone at its finest! We are delighted to be able to offer you this killer Strat from the current year, which list price was EUR 8,650, in mint, almost unplayed condition.
