In the spring of 1954, the music world was changed forever with the launch of the Fender Stratocaster: An instrument that was not only the most innovative solidbody electric guitar in the world to date, but also so timeless that it is still built virtually unchanged today. For the 50th anniversary of the Strat, the Fender Custom Shop brought out a limited Anniversary series, which was modeled on the original Strat down to the smallest detail: Two-Tone Sunburst, single-ply pickguard, Mapleneck with bold U-shape, 7'25 neck radius, vintage frets, and even the top strap pin was placed a little lower, as on some of the original Strats. Plus a very light aging that is even a bit lighter than today's Journeyman aging. The guitars were built by different masterbuilders. We can offer you the specimen with serial number 5342, made by custom store veteran Greg Fessler. And we'll go out on a limb and say that the guitar should cut a much better figure as a player than most originals. Great tone that comes across as pearly and wiry as you'd want from a '54 Strat. The neck feels great despite the strong profile and the somewhat thinner vintage frets don't get in the way of modern playing techniques like bending etc.. For its age, the guitar is in top condition and has virtually no signs of use beyond factory aging. Even the frets have only minimal play marks and should have a long life ahead of them.
