Here we have a “50th Anniversary Stratocaster”, masterbuilt by John English. These strictly limited edition 54 Strats were built from January 15 to December 31, 2004 to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Stratocaster. They are faithful reproductions of the original instruments, using many of the same machines and manufacturing methods used in 1954. Every body contour, pickup magnet and screw has been faithfully recreated to create an exact replica of a 1954 Strat. Fender even went so far as to have former CBS/Fender employee Roger Centeno stamp each tremolo cover plate with the former original stamp. The guitars have a nitrocellulose lacquered, two-piece ash body and a one-piece maple neck with a U-profile. They feel great in the hand and are extremely comfortable to play without tiring. In addition, three “Custom Shop Vintage 1954 Stratocaster” pickups were installed, handwound by Abigail Ybarra, custom-made reproductions of the original pickups from 1954. This makes the incredibly resonant and sustain-rich Strat extremely pearly and bell-like with a beautiful wooden tone. Exactly the sound you associate with a vintage Strat! It's great fun to work with the tone here. John English has also meticulously recreated the beautiful finish with subtle relicing, the pickguard, the poti knobs and the pickup covers using the exact methods and materials of the original. Here you really have a piece of music history in your hands, which also comes with a matching brown leather case with red plush lining and 50th anniversary logo for its future owner. We are delighted to be able to offer you this special rarity in top condition.
