Fender Stratocaster 50s NAMM Ltd. (2016)

Anyone looking for a classic mapleneck Strat with that certain visual something should take a closer look at this limited edition beauty! This model, simply called the “50s Strat”, was designed for NAMM 2016 and comes with a “Best Of” 50s specs. But the first thing that catches the eye is the look: The “Faded Candy Apple Red” has almost faded to an orange and is complemented by the tastefully discreet Journeyman relicing. The icing on the cake is the mapleneck with AAA flame, which can be admired on both the back and the fingerboard. When you pick it up, you immediately feel comfortable - the “57 Style Soft V” profile, which is a little stronger here, nestles perfectly in the fretting hand. Both rhythm playing with chords and delicate soloing are easy with the 9.5” fingerboard radius and the 6105 frets. The amplified sound is provided by two "Handwound 50s" singlecoils on the neck and in the middle and a "Handwound Texas Special" on the bridge. The perfect mix for snappy Rock'n'Roll and surf sounds, but even more modern sounds with lots of distortion never sound shrill, but pleasant and differentiated.
