This 1962 Relic Strat by Jason Smith comes from a special limited edition commissioned by Gernold Linke (mastermind of the German Fender dependency) for the 2014 model year. Only eight specimens in elegant sunburst were made by eight masterbuilders. The brief was to interpret the "sunburst" theme in their own way using a '62 Strat. Jason Smith decided on a "3-Color-Sunburst". He created a truly exceptional Strat with Handwound 60's pickup, "Mid 60's Style Oval C" neck profile, 9.5'' fingerboard radius and the slightly higher 6105 frets, resulting in top playability and an absolute top sound. The previous owner had the guitar treated with the Cryo process by George Forester. We can't say, if this is the reason for the great vibration behavior, but the guitar resonates dry at its best. Sonically absolute top league, very best Strat sound: beautifully smacking, bell-like, differentiated with a great attack and tone. Serves both clean and distorted sounds terrificly. And the beautiful sunburst finish comes with a not at all overdone relicing giving this Stratocaster authentic vintage vibes. We are pleased to offer you this unique Strat with high rarity and recognition value, which was documented in Grand Guitars magazine on several pages (issue 04/2014 enclosed), in excellent condition. It shows one or two traces of use on the frets, but they surely have many years of greatest playing fun ahead of them.
