Fender Esquire 70 Limited Edition Relic Masterbuilt Mark Kendrick (2008)

During his more than 25 years in the Fender Custom Shop, Mark Kendrick worked with some of the most respected names in the music industry such as Merle Haggard, Eric Clapton and Keith Richards. The vibes of the latter can also be felt in this Esquire. Even the “3-Tone Sunburst” look with super authentic relicing is very reminiscent of the Rolling Stones guitarist. But what is really special about this guitar is that Kendrick has milled a humbucker cavity and added his initials, which makes it possible to convert this Esquire into a Keith Richards Tele at any time. The guitar was released at NAMM 2008 (confirmed by the two certificates). The best playability is guaranteed by the extremely comfortable medium neck, 9.5'' fingerboard radius and the great 6150 Jumbo frets. In terms of sound, the “Texas Special” pickup, handwound by Abigail Ybarra, is convincing across the board. Wonderfully warm and fat, but also nice and crisp and wiry, never shrill or unpleasant. Just the right sound for assertive, distorted riffs! All three positions are a great pleasure: when the pickup is routed directly to the output socket without a tone poti, as well as with a variable tone poti, resepectively using the capacitor. Incredibly direct and with a great attack. We are delighted to be able to offer you this fantastic Esquire in top condition.
