Bill Collings started building guitars in the mid-70s. What was initially a sideline became his main job in the 80s as part of his own guitar store in Austin, TX. Bill became nationally known after building several custom guitars for Gruhn Guitars in Nashville, TN. As the company grew and processes were refined in the years that followed, one thing remained constant: Bill Collings' commitment to building the finest stringed instruments available. This is also evident in this 290 DC, which comes with a double cutaway body made from Honduras mahogany and two handwound P90 pickups from Jason Lollar. Perfect playability thanks to unimpeded access to the upper frets, 12'' fingerboard radius and Medium frets. In addition, the Collings offers an enormous range of tonal possibilities. From unadulterated clean sounds with rich harmonic complexity to hard-hitting Classic Rock sounds, there are few areas the 290 DC couldn't cover. This unaged gem in the classic “TV Yellow” finish offers the ideal combination for Rock and Blues sounds. We are therefore delighted to be able to offer you this soundmighty Collings in top condition with minimal signs of use on the back.
