The Beltona company was born in 1990 from a partnership between Steve Evans and Bill Johnson in Great Britain. As a luthier and engineer with the same interest in resonator guitars they set out to build some instruments for themselves emulating the best features of the originals, but also making some adjustments and improvements. This evolved into a company that produced handmade metal instruments of the highest quality at a time when no one else was producing them. The Beltona T015 Tricone was one of the company's first products. Built of nickel-plated brass in the form of an all-metal case with a tricone resonator the T015 is quite plain compared to some of the more elaborate historic metal-bodied instruments. But it sounds just as good! The neck is made of mahogany and has a bound ebony fingerboard that is fantastic for fingerstyle and slide. The headstock is made of faux pearl, emblazoned with the Beltona logo. With its pronounced V-neck profile the guitar is great to play, extremely comfortable and very convenient. The guitar sound produced is a distinct metal resonator tone with exceptional sustain. The T015 Tricone gained fame by being used on various acoustic versions of songs on Gary Moore's album "Blues for Greeny" and being featured in the corresponding press photos. Furthermore, Eric Clapton played a T015 Tricone on his "Blues" tour in 1994 and Mark Knopfler received one in 1996 at the end of his "Golden Heart" tour, which he has been playing live regularly ever since. So we are happy to offer you this tonally, visually and historically exceptional resonator guitar in top condition.
