That the artificial aging of Fender's custom shop guitars has become an art form in its own right can be seen from the fact that every master builder brings his own style to the aging process. The king of Relicing is currently Dale Wilson. No one else makes the cracks and play wear look so detailed and authentic. This '51 heavy relic tele is no exception. Apart from a look that will make you want to take a bite, this guitar also has an incredible sound for blues and rock. Due to the massive neck a lot of mass is vibrating here - and this is reflected in the sound. We have rarely heard such a characteristic, sloppy and assertive Tele. The hand-wound Red Hot Tele pickups also contribute their part. Despite the thick neck the guitar weighs just 3010 grams. So if the left hand falls off, at least your back is spared. Fun aside: the playabilty is just great. After all, it's not so much the thickness of the neck that matters, but its profile. And here Dale Wilson has worked out such a well-shaped U that after a short period of getting used to it, you won't want to put this tele down at all. Whoever dares to take on this guitar will be richly rewarded!
