Gibson Les Paul 57 Goldtop Murphy Lab Ultra Heavy Aging Factory Special (2023)

We are pleased that we can once again offer you a specimen of Jörg Hermann's exclusive "Factory Special" Paulas. He only gives this rating to very special instruments that are equipped with the exclusive MHH upgrade specs such as special wood selection or thinner nitro lacquer for optimal resonance. The 57 Goldtop at hand also carries this distinction and enchants with a wonderful, by no means subtle Ultra-Heavy Aging. The gold finish here is covered with countless hairline cracks and meticulously applied flaws that make it seem as if this Paula has had decades of use behind it. And the custom color “Antique Double Gold” is also more than special as an additional charge option: you can literally feel how every single layer of the aged finish is soaked in the rich gold tone. In addition attention was paid to complete bone glue processing and the use of true historical parts. This attention to detail results in first-class playability, also thanks to an ideal weight of just 3990 grams and the super comfortable "CC 59er Authentic Fine Carved Rounded" neck profile as a further "special feature". But the absolute highlight of this gem is definitely its multi-faceted sound. Unpotted Murphy-Spec Custombuckers were installed here (neck: underwound NPC TH MCMRMHH, bridge: NPC TH XHCMR), which as a special treat can be split using push/pull potis to offer the greatest variety of sounds. Even without an amp the beautifully resonant sound miracle impresses with its dry, woody vintage character. And on the amp the perfectly balanced pickups, which were modeled on old PAFs, show their full potential with growling bass, wiry mids and radiant highs. Great sound, warm, bluesy and transparent as required, with distortion but also nicely smacking and biting. You can work excellently with the sound here and the option of singlecoil operation means you can even create classic Strat sounds with the Les Paul, so you can really be at home in any style of music.
