Lucys are almost impossible to find today. Therefore we are even more pleased to be able to offer you the special serial number #100 (of 100), the very last Lucy that was built. The model of this replica, a 1957 Les Paul with humbuckers, belonged to John Sebastian of Lovin' Spoonful. Through several detours it came to Eric Clapton, who immortalized himself and this iconic guitar forever with the solo of the Beatles song "While My Guitar Gently Weeps." In 1968 he gave it to George Harrison and at the same time got together with Pattie Boyd, to whom George had been married since 1965. Eric was fascinated by this woman and had already written several songs for her over the years, such as "Layla". Later he explained that, contrary to some reports, he had not stolen George Harrison's wife, but had traded his precious guitar for her. George then nicknamed the red Les Paul "Lucy," named after the red-haired actress Lucille Ball, and cherished it until the end of his life. This replica from the Gibson Custom Shop of 2013 is modeled after the original in every facet. The transparent red finish combined with the subtle aging is simply a feast for the eyes, the medium-thick neck feels wonderful in the hand and the fat, but also transparent and crisp sound makes this guitar far more than just an irretrievable collector's item. As a special bonus the certificate is also handsigned by Eric Clapton and includes a shrink-wrapped copy of the "White Album". The guitar comes from collector's hand and is in top condition.
