As if it wasn't hard enough to get your hands on a Gibson Silverburst, it's almost impossible to find a Murphy Lab outside of the Gibson Custom Shop's extremely expensive Adam Jones line. So we are extremely pleased to offer you this Silverburst from Gibson's "Made to Measure" program. Even more so in the super authentic "Light Aging", which is extremely rare even on other paint finishes. This killer Paula was a special order from the Guitar-Place in Aschaffenburg, Germany, was put together in its specs in cooperation with Thom Fowle - head of the Gibson Custom Shop - and was aged by Tom Murphy with his team. And what phenomenal aging we have here: countless hairline cracks stretch across the greenish-silver vintage patina. Matching this are the yellowish-yellowed pickup frames and the corresponding binding. Beyond that, you can see a few minor quirks placed in significant places. We compared this 2022 Les Paul Custom with an old Silverburst from 1980 and were fascinated by how authentic and how phenomenally close the aging of the Murphy Lab comes to the original here. Furthermore, it convinces with an ideal weight of only 4040 grams and its deep black ebony fingerboard, over which you want to whizz for hours thanks to the super comfortable Medium Rounded C-profile. Even when played dry, this Custom's great vibration behavior is evident. And at the amp it literally blows your ears off. The two Custombuckers conjure up an extremely characterful, dynamic tone, which is 100% convincing both clean and distorted and in singing lead sounds. Here you can work in the best way with the tone and dynamics of the guitar. In addition, super open, beautifully differentiated and with a fantastic smacking, Rock sound! With this Les Paul Custom, whose list price in 2022 - even before the last price increase - was just under EUR 7,900, you get a unique combination of look, playability and sound, which offers the best value retention due to its high rarity value. The guitar is in mint, virtually unplayed condition.
