Fender Stratocaster 69 Heavy Relic Masterbuilt Vincent van Trigt (2022)

Whenever Vincent van Trigt posts a guitar on his own Instagram page, then you definitely know that it must be a special masterpiece and that even the absolute shooting star among masterbuilders is very proud of this special guitar. This is also the case with this '69 Super-Strat, which is a wonderfully successful bravura piece that fascinates across the board, especially in terms of aging and spec composition. The fabulous finish in impressively yellowed "Sonic Blue over 3-Color Sunburst" with countless hairline cracks, larger and smaller flaws, considerable paint abrasion and artificially "dirtied" areas gives the guitar a phenomenal vintage patina. Finished with an incredibly flamed, roasted 4A maple neck, which even has an enchanting maple cap in keeping with the era. You only have to look at the grain of the deep dark, large headstock to understand the extent of the immense attention to detail and the unique wood selection with which this exceptional instrument has been equipped. Furthermore, the exclusive Stratocaster has specs that are hard to find in this combination and that we have never seen on a van Trigt masterbuilt before! Handwound "M.D. LTD" pickups were used here as singlecoils on the neck and in the middle. Based on past John Cruz pickups these come across as extremely bell-like and round and are immediately reminiscent of the characteristic clean sounds à la John Mayer: open, transparent and yet always with enough mid-range and warmth. The "EVH Zebra" humbucker on the bridge on the other hand delivers the finest, authentic Van Halen sounds when distorted, taking you straight to seventh Rock heaven. The richest Rock board, fat, smacking and sawing, it's a real pleasure. And now Vincent has combined the whole thing with the legendary, detuning free Floyd Rose, so that even the most blatant dive bombs are no problem here. As if that wasn't enough to raise the playability to the very highest level, van Trigt has also equipped the Strat with a super comfortable "Large C" profile, 12'' fingerboard radius and the fantastic 6100 frets to meet even the most modern player demands.
