The way masterbuilder Ron Thorn has interpreted this black '63 Stratocaster is in a league of its own. Numerous hairline cracks and only minor flaws and abrasions subtly cover the worn, matt, deep dark finish. Vintage patina at its best! The era-appropriate greenguard and the dark rosewood fingerboard are a perfect match. With the "60 Style Oval C" neck profile, 9.5" fingerboard radius and the proven Narrow/Tall frets this Strat is of course extremely comfortable to play and offers fantastic handling. Even when played dry the guitar resonates exceptionally well and has a wonderfully sustain-rich basic character, which the three handwound "60 Strat" pickups transmit perfectly to the amp. Super bell-like and pearly with the intermediate position of the neck and middle pickups delivering pure John Mayer sound. A thick, bluesy tone that never gets harsh, classic round Strat sounds to kneel down to!
