It's a real shame that Ron Thorn has left the Fender Custom Shop to go his own entrepreneurial way. Because every one of his instruments that we have got our hands on so far has been simply great. This is also the case with this 57 Journeyman Strat in a classic black finish, which is not only an eye-catcher, but also a listener! Hidden behind the subtly reliced vintage look is an absolute top player with the best sound characteristics. The aging couldn't be better and the wonderfully patinated surface with its characteristic signs of use is spot on. The “60 Style Oval C” neck profile, 9.5'' fingerboard radius and the popular Narrow/Tall frets ensure the very best playability. And the sound is also a joy! The pickup combination of “Handwound 57” on the neck and in the middle (including RWRP noise suppression) and “Handwound Fat 50's” on the bridge is top league in terms of sound. No wonder, these are the legendary Josefina handwounds! Every nuance of the extremely resonant instrument is transmitted to the amp with great transparency. Percussive, bell-like, funky, bulbous - this Strat has a bit of everything! The guitar will be delivered to its future owner in mint condition.
