When you look at this Stratocaster with its beautiful finish in "Aged Daphne Blue" and only subtle Journeyman aging your mouth immediately starts watering. The tone of the candy color is first-class with a great weathered vintage patina. The whole thing is interspersed with countless small hairline cracks and only a few minimal imperfections, creating an appearance as if this guitar had been in use for years, but had always been cherished and cared for. This fabulous look is completed by the beautifully faded maple neck with the characteristic play marks on the fingerboard. And what the look promises continues with the sound and playing characteristics of the Strat. The pickup combination of "Handwound 57" on the neck and in the middle (including RWRP noise suppression) and "Handwound Fat 50's" on the bridge is top league in terms of sound: every nuance of the phenomenal dry sound is transmitted to the amp with great transparency. Percussive, bell-like, funky, bulbous - this Strat has a bit of everything! The great overall package is rounded off with a 9.5" radius, "60 Style Oval C" neck profile and the proven Narrow/Tall frets, which in conjunction with the perfect weight of 3260 grams guarantees the very best playability. The fact that this masterpiece also comes from masterbuilder Ron Thorn, who has since left the Fender Custom Shop, makes its status even more exclusive.
